Well, That's nice when that happens
A few years ago we had a roller garage door fitted, and when it works, its great, easy to access the house and when we were doing tech long treks every weekend to visit (now deceased) olds, it was so much nicer to be able to load the car directly through the garage than in the sipping rain... HOWEVER.. They have a habit of suddenly stopping working, and heaven forfend you should let them unroll on an immovable object, cos the safety cut offs can be a bit hit & miss... Well long story short, the SLM (Serene Lady Margaret) and I had unloaded the car after another trip to Welsh Wales, and the darned thing didn't roll down... However the manual override worked.. Well previous (Expensively gained) experience tells me that its due to the fancy hi Volt Lithium batteries going flat with zero warning.. No worries, I'll trot off to our local Garage Door Emporium and get new ones..I did, duly fitted... and nothing happened <Bugger>
In this case a useful hint is to unplug the unit, leave it for an hour and then switch it back on.. Nothing doing..Oh well..I contact said Emporium of Garage Doors, and they say, Its a service, and its £100 <More Bugger> but aw well
This afternoon a nice chap has turned up, examined said door, turns out the batteries are duff..There has been a bad batch, so he fits a new set, tells me No Charge and is off...
Thanks fella.. I knew their customer service was pretty good, but I have had a free door service & check..If you live locally, and want to know who they are, drop me a message
